Marigold comes from near the town of Neapoli. The Haven received a phone call from the municipality, that a donkey was abandoned and asking if they can do anything for her. The Haven said that they were willing to take her, but they didn’t have the transport to get her in Malia.

A couple of days after Marigold arrived in the shelter Gayner received a call from a Greek man in Neapolis. He had heard that we had taken in an abandoned donkey and he wondered if we could take in another one. His father, now 86 was unable to work with his donkey or to look after her. but they did not want to abandon her.

Yes, we have another donkey, four ladies now running in the paddock at the Haven.
Her name is Hebe (pronounced Hiebie), continuing the theme of plant or flower names. This was started with their first donkey, Fern and continues until the four flowers of the Haven which they have today.
